Introducing Tags: Know Where Every Vacation Dollar Went

Categories tell you what you spent. Tags tell you why. Group any trip, event, or goal across every category — and finally see the real total in one place.

The problem with categories alone

Say you just got back from a week in the Smokey Mountains. The hotel bill landed in Travel, gas went to Auto, dinners scattered across Dining, and Dollywood tickets ended up in Entertainment. Add it all up manually? No thanks.

Tags let you mark every one of those transactions Vacation Smokey Mountains 2026 — regardless of category — and see the complete trip cost without touching a spreadsheet.

What you get

Color-coded labels

Give each tag a name and a color so trips, events, and projects stand out at a glance.

Span any category

A vacation tag can cover hotel (Travel), gas (Auto), restaurants (Dining), and tickets (Entertainment) — all in one view.

Filter in one click

Tap a tag on the Transactions page to instantly filter down to just those rows, no matter when they were added.

Per-tag analytics

The tag detail page shows total spend, a category breakdown pie chart, and a monthly bar chart — zero spreadsheet required.

Your tags, at a glance

The Tags page gives you a complete overview of every tag you've created. Each tag displays its name, color indicator, optional description, and the total number of transactions tagged. From there, you can:

  • Click to open analytics — see total spend, transaction count, date range, and a category breakdown pie chart for that tag
  • Filter by tag instantly — jump to the Transactions view with only that tag's rows visible
  • Edit or delete — modify the tag's name, color, or description, or remove it entirely when the project is done
  • See the color at a glance — each tag has its own color badge, so you know which trips and goals you're looking at instantly

Tag any transaction in seconds

In the Transactions view, a small tag icon appears on the left side of every transaction row. Click it to open a popover where you can:

  • Attach one or more tags — a single transaction can belong to multiple tags. Tag your flight under both "Vacation Smokey Mountains 2026" and "Flights"
  • Remove tags later — trip's over and you want to clean up? Open the tag popover again and uncheck any tags
  • See which tags are applied — each row shows the colored tag dots for any tags you've attached, so you know at a glance what trips or goals a transaction belongs to
  • Filter by tag instantly — click a tag badge in any row and the view filters down to show only transactions with that tag

This means whether your vacation expenses hit your account all at once or trickle in over a few weeks, you can tag them all instantly and have the complete picture waiting for you on the Tags page.

See exactly what your trip cost

Click any tag on the Tags page to open its dedicated detail view. Here's what you'll find:

Total spend at the top

The complete cost of the trip or project, no matter how many transactions make it up or which categories they landed in.

Key stats: transaction count, date range, and average per transaction

See how many individual charges went into your Smokey Mountains trip and when it all happened.

Category breakdown pie chart

The biggest budget killers at a glance. Did hotels eat your budget, or was it dining? The pie chart shows the slice each category took.

Month-by-month bar chart (if the tag spans multiple months)

Multi-month projects and extended trips get a bar chart showing how spending was distributed over time. Plan that renovation or wedding gradually? See which months had the heaviest spending.

Scroll down to see every transaction tagged with this tag, so you can audit the math or edit any that were mislabeled.
